Description
This project is part of the process of implementing the Project on the Gradual Establishment of a Network of SME Intermediaries initiated by the then SMEs and Entrepreneurship Support Division. The project was among seven activities that were proposed by the SESD in its concept paper titled “Making IP Work for SMEs: Future Directions for SMEs and Entrepreneurship Support Division”.
The objective of the project was to create a network of SME intermediaries that would establish an online platform and provide an opportunity for WIPO and IP offices to enhance their cooperation with SME intermediaries in the delivery of IP related services to SMEs. It was envisaged that after establishing the online platform SME intermediaries would join the network voluntarily.
The project is intended to provide input in form of practical suggestions, recommendations and/or information that would facilitate the successful implementation of the Project on the Gradual Establishment of a network of SME intermediaries, by contributing to the achievement of the following aspects:
1. Creation of database of SME intermediaries in WIPO member states (starting with Austria, Germany and Switzerland);
2. Identifying SME intermediaries that IPBD officials could meet during missions;
3. Establishing online platform.
