Making Sense of Strategy Execution: Towards an Improved Multilevel Understanding

Type
fundamental research project
Status
ongoing
Description
Despite the urgency with which practitioners seek effective ways to execute strategy, scholars have yet to develop a coherent body of research on the topic area. The prior research on strategy execution, on the challenges that organizations face, and on the ways in which these challenges can be overcome is surprisingly limited. With this post-doctoral research project, I aim at contributing to an improved understanding of this topic area by analyzing the landscape of strategy execution research, as well as, the antecedents, processes, and consequences of sensemaking processes associated with strategy execution at multiple organizational levels.
