Description
The Competence Center Experimental Entrepreneurship has received a grant by the Grundlagenforschungsfonds to fund innovate research experiments in entrepreneurial decision-making.
The experiments will be carried out with the objective to examine the decision making of entrepreneurs. Therefore, our research will focus on the question: Which factors influence the decision making of entrepreneurs in unpredictable and uncertain situations?
Previous research has confirmed that emotions have a stronger influence on decision-making in these situations than in predictable and certain situations. The role of emotions in economic decision-making has gained strong recognition - especially in the fields of experimental economics and behavioural finance. So far, only few studies have focused on this aspect in entrepreneurship research. To close this gap, our experiments will examine the impact of emotions on the recognition and exploitation of entrepreneurial opportunities. The results of these experiments will support entrepreneurs in recognizing and exploiting business opportunities.
