Description
The project tackles the all too often silenced topic of dilemmatic talking and positioning among hospital staff. Asking for agency in times of organizational change, therefore, it suggests a model of "discursive responsibility" in communication which integrates central concepts of discursive psychology. This approach aims to move beyond individual communication conflicts towards a social-organizational understanding of communication and its challenges. It scrutinizes possible subject positions and dilemmatic power relations that physicians and nurses achieve in different groups and hierarchies. Focusing on the consequences for communication and agency, the results are reflected within several workshops. The final model can be used both for further analysis and for organizational intervention and training.

The project introduces the concept of discursive responsibility in organizational communication. This concept seems appropriate for investigating today's communicative challenges in hospitals and for developing a much-needed analytic model as well as organizational interventions and training.
