Item type:Publication, Diffusion Problems Of Radical Sustainable Innovations In EcosystemsThis article contributes to the literature stream of diffusion theory and radical sustainable innovation management. The purpose of this article is to understand why the diffusion of radical sustainable innovations often is such a longsome and difficult process. I propose that an ecosystem perspective serves as an explanation for this phenomenon. I argue that radical sustainable innovations in ecosystems cannot be accomplished by a single organization and oftentimes require complementary innovations of other players. These interdependencies within the ecosystem mainly determine the diffusion rate of the focal innovation. Item type:Publication, Mimetic Isomorphism as a Driver of Collective Incumbent Inertia(2008-08-11); Tachas, PhilippIt has been observed that incumbents who are confronted with technological discontinuities frequently react with inertia. We contribute to the literature on collective incumbent inertia with a model that aims to explain why incumbentscollectively react with inertia when faced with discontinuous change. To explain this phenomenon we develop a model that combines theories of mimetic isomorphism, incumbent position reinvestment and resource dependency. Finally,we argue that the relationship of mimetic isomorphism and collective inertia is moderated by the transparency of the organizational field.Type:conference paper
