Strategy execution matters in order to establish competitive advantages and facilitate long-term success. Nevertheless, almost every organization struggles. Prior research assumes that execution is mainly a people problem. Furthermore, it is argued that poor or inadequate information sharing can doom strategy execution attempts. The purpose of our study is therefore to provide empirical evidence of why and when people reveal their private information in organizational planning resulting in reducing the strategy execution gap.
