Abstract
The third 2025 edition of the Swiss Logistics Market Study focuses on key developments in infrastructure, the labour market, and the transformation of logistics professions. It highlights how Swiss logistics is increasingly shaped by the interplay of growing traffic volumes, economic uncertainty, and a persistent structural shortage of skilled labour. The analysis of congestion hours on the Swiss national road network points to a substantial long-term increase in infrastructure pressure, while the monitoring of job vacancies indicates a gradual normalisation of the labour market following the peaks of recent years.
This edition also takes a closer look at the structural transformation of logistics professions. Digitalisation, automation, and emerging technologies are reshaping job profiles and skill requirements while simultaneously creating new development opportunities. Particular attention is given to the perspectives of apprentices and young professionals, as well as to the question of how companies can attract, develop, and retain young talent over the long term. The findings show that, alongside attractive career and training opportunities, leadership culture, working conditions, and target-group-specific communication are becoming increasingly important for the future competitiveness of the logistics sector.
