Abstract
The article discusses the study of political economics and explores the differences between political economics and standard economics. Details are provided about the discipline of political economics, which assumes that people in the economic system are rational and intelligent decision makers. A history of the study and growth of political economics is provided. The author also describes how standard economic tools such as voting models can be utilized in the study of political economics in order to properly understand economic policy-making.
