Abstract
This panel explores how responsible leaders can ethically integrate emerging intelligent technologies in organizations and the broader society. We focus on the impact of responsible leadership on the development of governance structures and the implications of responsible leadership for organizational futures shaped by ethical AI use, as well as their broader effects on democratic societies. Drawing on responsible leadership theory, we aim to: 1) examine how different ethical theories will influence responsible leadership in the context of technology, 2) understand how variations in responsible leadership will create different governance structures of AI, 3) explore the relationship between responsible leadership, AI usage, and democratic processes, and 4) identify to what extend interventions and strategies to foster responsible leadership are applicable to help leaders navigate the uncertainties of AI, address contextual complexities, and adopt ethically sound approaches in leading and governing AI.
