Abstract
Most emergencies occur unexpectedly and hit the company at the worst possible moment. Wrong or hectic and unplanned actions usually have an adverse effect and present themselves a further risk.

The book aims to impart theoretical knowledge and practical recommendations how to cope with such events. The academic part deals with the following questions: What are the goals of an Emergency Response Planning? How can a company prepare itself to deal with and also to learn from an emergency? The practical part looks at actual insights. Answers and comments of a questionnaire, sent to aviation leaders worldwide, were compiled. Real events were discussed face to face and examined in detail.

The study is based on the aviation sector but can also be used for any type of business or even in private life.
