Abstract (Fr)
Mapping Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang was one of the main goals of the Sino-Swedish Expedition (SSE) to the provinces of western China. The numerous difficulties that plagued the fieldwork conducted during the 1927-1935 years limited the diffusion of the SSE Reports later on. This article seeks to comprehend the posture the Chinese and Swedish surveyors may have taken when a contested discovery in a hostile area challenged them.
