Abstract
The continuing growth of the economic activity and the European Union's enlargement will increase needs for mobility and transport services. Road transport is a necessity for our mobility and therefore new measures are required to tackle this increasing problem. Possible solutions could be provided by telematic systems to ease up and even improve the current situation. Hence this report tries to give a deeper insight into the complex telematics market from both a technical and a business related point of view. Starting with a more general analyse of business perspectives and technical functionality within the telematic market in part I we move on, evaluating five different scenarios which discuss possible solutions and future trends of telematics.
