Abstract
This paper deals with the range of existing tools and their functionalities for workplace e-collaboration. It is part of ongoing research in the area of workplace e-collaboration and focuses on the synchronous technological support for collaboration. First, the current situation, state-of-the-art, and need for action will be described. Second, a set of criteria for evaluating web-conferencing tools will be defined. Third, each of the criteria will be weighted based on findings from literature and results from a pilot project and finally applied to three leading products. The paper closes with a conclusion and discussion of results.
