Abstract
Many companies look at data integration and functional integration as critical success factors for effective information management today [1]. Enterprise-wide IS integration can be achieved in severals ways. First, integrated standard software, like SAP’s R/3 package, may be purchased and adapted to the company’s needs. Second, when IS development starts “from scratch”, entirely new systems may be designed and implemented in an integrated manner. Third, information systems already in use may be reconsidered and integrated with other ones.
