Abstract
Reactions ranging, overwhelmingly from disbelief and disgust at the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States are not limited to Europe. The development of Latin America will be vastly influenced by its neighbour to the north and its far from predictable state ruler. At any rate, one may surmise that the planned building of a wall at the Mexican-American border and Trump’s «America first» solution makes for an uncertain future for US Latinos in terms of continental Pan-American relationships.
