This paper discusses the possibilities of studying cross-cultural management by means of the lacuna model. The lacuna model is a research tool for “unlocking” gaps in all areas of cross-cultural communication. The lacuna model is able to address the limitations of traditional dimensional approaches and reflect the shift in cross-cultural management research towards a more dynamic conceptualization of culture. Using numerous empirical examples, the authors demonstrate how the lacuna model can be applied in praxis to the analysis of cross-cultural interactions in a structured manner. Finally, the authors compare the lacuna model to Hofstede’s framework, offering suggestions for the deployment of these two approaches in the field of cross-cultural management.
