Abstract
The Article analyses the vision of "Ubiquitous Computing" from the perspective of information management and identifies its potentials. Emphasis is put on the possible business value of Ubiquitous Computing developments and the requirements for the information management of the future. Special attention is paid to the role of IT service management as an approach to dealing with complexity associated to the deployment of extensive IT infrastructures as they are often associated with Ubiquitous Computing scenarios.

Der Beitrag betrachtet die Vision "Ubiquitous Computing" aus Sicht des Informationsmanagements und zeigt auf, welche Potenziale sich hierbei ergeben. Es wird erläutert, welchen Wertbeitrag Entwicklungen des Ubiquitous Computing liefern können und welche Anforderungen sich daraus für das Informationsmanagement der Zukunft ergeben. Dabei wird insbesondere auf die Rolle des IT-Servicemanagements als Ansatz für das Komplexitätsmanagement bei der Bereitstellung umfangreicher IT-Infrastrukturen, wie sie mit Ubiquitous Computing Szenarien zwangsläufig verbunden sind, eingegangen.
