Abstract
The research on complexity in collaborative networks has been underestimated so far, which is why the EU founded the project "Coll-Plexity" (Collaborations as Complex Systems) in the sixth framework program. In this present paper, we focus on developing a multi-matrix approach resulting in a reference framework to handle complexity in collaborative networks. The resulting model, which is based on the viable system model, is tested within two participating collaborations.
