Their volume remains, however, lower than that of the goods trade. Trade shares of different service types are fairly evenly distributed for both exports and imports, indicating a balanced services trade. That is to say, the Swiss services trade is not marked by a few highly significant service types with disproportionate shares of total trade volumes. Goods and services trade flows possess a clear positive correlation between each other - both on a country level and on a product-group/service-type level. Services trade volumes remain on an upward trend, especially with partners such as the U.S., the Netherlands and Germany. R&D as well as license services have grown substantially over the last couple of years.en-USTradeSwitzerlandServicesGoodsSwiss Trade Monitor - 06 - Goods and Servicesdiscussion paper
