Abstract
Concepts for measuring and controlling IT services costs are becoming progressively more important for IT service providers. Due to cost pressure, the need for business-process innovation and IT production-process improvement, service providers face the difficulty of measuring, calculating and controlling IT service costs at a fine-grained level. This contribution illustrates how a service-oriented cost measurement and accounting system was applied to a legal entity of a German telecommunication provider during 2006.
