Item type:Publication, GeTVivid: A TV Platform for P2P Support Exchange(ACM, 2015-06-03) ;Moser, Christiane ;Kargl, Thomas ;Tscheligi, Manfred ;Feldbacher, BernhardCollini-Nocker, BernhardThe introduction of second screens (e.g., tablet or smartphone) in social TV applications has generated new opportunities. We present the GeTVivid platform that works on a TV set in combination with a tablet as second screen. The platform aims at supporting older adults to organize informal and social care activities in local peer-topeer networks via the TV, tablet or a combination of both devices. We address, thereby, ageing in place that is increasingly emphasized as a preferable alternative to formal institutional care by strengthening informal care.Type:conference paper - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Towards an Electronic Marketplace for Bricks-and-Mortar Services(2013-12-04); ; Service provision of bricks-and-mortar services (e.g. cleaning, gardening) poses several challenges to the consumer. Finding a service provider as well as ordering and coordinating the service provision, requires intensive interaction between consumer and service provider. Due to the regional anchoring of these services, they are, to a large extent, provided by small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This poses additional challenges to the consumer: the market is fragmented and processes differ across service providers and industries. This problem is well-solved for tangible goods: consumers buy goods from different sellers via one marketplace (such as Amazon marketplace, eBay, etc.) and a seller-independent process. For services a similar consumer support is lacking. In this paper we address the gap from a consumer's perspective by proposing a software architecture that integrates standard applications and modules to support the consumer process. While the work is still in progress, first practice applications demonstrate the artifact's usefulness and viability.Type:conference paper - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Towards a Framework for Corporate Data Quality Management(The University of Southern Queensland, 2007-12-06); ;Wende, Kristin ;Schmidt, Alexander; Toleman, MarkTodays market environment requires companies to be able to adapt to new business models and to improve their operational excellence in terms of process efficiency and organisational effectiveness. Agility and flexibility build on high-quality corporate data and powerful corporate data management. This paper proposes a framework for corporate data quality management. The structure of the framework consists of the three layers of Business Engineering (strategy, organisation and information systems) as well as the two perspectives of data management (governance and execution). The scope of the framework is deduced from the state of the art in the domains of IT and data management such as COBIT and ITIL. The framework helps to determine which tasks need to be performed for improving corporate data quality and how they are interrelated. It helps to combine corporate data management to the business objectives of an organisation and to anchor it efficiently within the existing organisational structure.Type:conference paper
