Abstract
The first 2026 edition of the Swiss Logistics Market Study examines key developments in the Swiss logistics market and combines current market data with structural questions concerning the future of the sector. The focus is initially on the development of the logistics market and the Top 100 logistics service providers in Switzerland. For 2024, the study identifies a logistics market volume of CHF 46.1 billion; at the same time, the analysis points to an overall robust market structure, moderate growth, and a provider landscape that continues to be strongly characterised by small and medium-sized enterprises.
In addition, the edition explores two key topics in greater depth. First, it examines future-oriented logistics concepts against the backdrop of rising supply requirements and increasing infrastructure capacity constraints. The focus is on the more efficient use of existing infrastructure, better integration of road and rail, as well as operational, organisational, and demand-side solutions. Second, the study analyses the transformation of IT in logistics. Heterogeneous system landscapes, cloud and legacy structures, rising integration and operating costs, and growing requirements for data availability and real-time capabilities are fundamentally changing the role of IT. It is increasingly evolving from a supporting function into a central enabler of efficiency, transparency, and the future viability of logistics.
