Abstract
The open thematic area contains a reflection of the monumental exhibition “La BD à tous les étages”, with which the Centre Pompidou Paris celebrated the final breakthrough of the comic into the art canon last year - but this ennoblement has its price. From the originally anonymous, anarchic production to the fetishization of the original and the artist figure, the medium itself is transformed with the musealization. Felix Keller saw the exhibition for CLOSURE and reflects on whether the subversive potential of the comic - its “anarchistic other” - might be lost in the process of becoming art?

Im offenen Themenbereich findet sich eine Reflexion der monumentalen Ausstellung »La BD à tous les étages«, mit der das Centre Pompidou Paris im vergangenen Jahr den endgültigen Durchbruch des Comics in den Kunstkanon zelebrierte – doch die Nobilitierung hat ihren Preis. Von der ursprünglich anonymen, anarchischen Produktion bis zur Fetischisierung des Originals und der Künstler_innenfigur transformiert sich mit der Musealisierung das Medium selbst. Felix Keller hat für CLOSURE die Ausstellung gesehen und reflektiert, ob das subversive Potenzial des Comics – sein »anarchistisch Anderes« – im Prozess der Kunstwerdung womöglich verloren geht?

Dans l'espace thématique ouvert, une réflexion sur l'exposition monumentale « La BD à tous les étages », qui a marqué l'année dernière l'entrée définitive de la bande dessinée dans les canons de l'art, est présentée. Mais la nobélisation a son prix. De la production anonyme et anarchique d'origine à la fétichisation de l'original et de la figure de l'artiste, la muséification transforme le média lui-même. Felix Keller a vu l'exposition pour CLOSURE et se demande si le potentiel subversif de la bande dessinée, son « autre anarchiste », ne se perd pas dans le processus de création artistique.
