Abstract
This chapter defines "green extractivism," a phenomenon where projects marketed for sustainability and climate adaptation perpetuate and intensify extractive logics. Drawing on the Grave di Ciano case (Italy) and other global evidence, the chapter discusses how ecological transition narratives can conceal new forms of capital accumulation, dispossessing local communities and degrading socio-natural ecosystems.
