It has already been a common recognition by most management academicians and practitioners that manufacturing companies have to extend service business facing the fiercer market competition and the lower product margin. But in practice the investment on service and service revenue of manufacturing company are still very low. In this paper, we study the behavioural factors which influence the extending service business in manufacturing company based on the investigation of some machinery and equipment companies. We analyse systematically the cognitive and behavioural factors of extending service business by following the technical procedure of analysing service investment motivation, service objectives setting and service objectives implementation.
