Abstract
Instant Payment represents a transformative backend infrastructure that enables the real-time, irrevocable transfer of funds on a 24/7 basis, eliminating debtor risk and enhancing transactional efficiency. Unlike traditional payment instruments, Instant Payment combines the benefits of cashless systems - such as speed and convenience - without their associated limitations, such as settlement delays or clearing times. As a strategic investment, Instant Payment offers financial institutions the opportunity to modernize payment services and enhance customer experience. However, its adoption introduces operational and technical challenges, particularly in the areas of liquidity management and system integration. To fully leverage the advantages of Instant Payment, banks must adapt their infrastructure and implement robust, real-time liquidity management frameworks.
