Abstract
Drawing on organizational learning theory, this study examines the strategic choices to implement AI within the organizational setting. We do so by adopting a single-case study approach, identifying five substages and activities (examine, enact, embed, evolve & expand) that we group into two aggregate AI-leveraging loops (inner- & outer loop) that reenable the implementation of AI across the firm. This paper proposes a model for organizational learning (OL) that can help organizations implement AI within the organizational setting and transform it into an AI-leveraged organization (AILO). Our findings are complementary to the existing theory and framework on single and double-loop learning and extend the management literature on how to successfully implement AI in the organizational setting.
