Item type:Publication, Unravelling company-internal data silos – A multiple case study of intra-organizational usage of supplier assessment data in manufacturing firms(2026); ;Antons, Oliver; Arlinghaus, JuliaManufacturing firms must continuously balance information processing requirements and capacity when assessing suppliers under increasing uncertainty and complexity. Drawing on organizational information processing theory, this study investigates how firms design intra-organizational integration in supplier assessment processes. Based on a multiple case study of four manufacturing companies, the findings show that firms configure supplier assessment through combinations of cross-functional integration, assessment scope, strategic prioritization, and technological assistance. The results further reveal that integration is inherently bounded, as firms selectively process supplier-related information based on its perceived usefulness and manageability, thereby balancing information processing requirements and capacity.Type:conference paper - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

While supply chain resilience has been widely studied, limited guidance exists on how focal firms can evaluate suppliers’ contributions to resilience. This study conducts a systematic litera-ture review to synthesize how manufacturing companies assess supplier resilience within supplier performance assessment practices. Findings show that existing ap-proaches are fragmented and often risk-focused rather than capability-oriented. Using the sensing, seizing, and transforming dynamic capabilities framework, the analysis identifies ten supplier resilience dimensions. These insights integrate dispersed assess-ment criteria into a coherent framework. Item type:Publication, Generative Artificial Intelligence in Logistics – Use Cases and Application PotentialThe use of Generative AI (Gen AI) in logistics is gaining significant attention, with expectations of cost reduction and improved efficiency. However, there has been a lack of structured evaluation and practical guidance for its application in the field. A practitioner-focused study by the Institute for Production and Supply Chain Management (PSCM-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen addresses this gap. It offers a theoretical foundation of Gen AI, explores current and future use cases in logistics, and provides actionable frameworks and recommendations for businesses. The study identifies 16 potential use cases, categorized into: • Knowledge Enablement (e.g., digital knowledge twins, training support), • Decision Drafting (e.g., offer creation, contract and invoice checks), and • Operational Intelligence (e.g., data management, customs clearance). A four-phase framework is proposed to help companies: 1. Identify relevant use cases, 2. Assess their potential, 3. Implement them using an eight-step method, and 4. Deploy & control solutions effectively.
