Abstract
=mcminstitute internal report - The last year, 2001, was marked by changes in our NetAcademy. Staff changes, platform technology and module changes, outsourcing and rethinking our business model. After the dot.com desaster, and despite still growing numbers of visitors, the economic perspectives for internet portals are not so bright any more. Content is not, as prognosed, the only big builder of communities and clients. Quality is. Although the NetAcademy never was a horizontal portal, we are striving to focus even more on vertical content, on academic quality and on a very specific clientele. Online publishing in a very specific field of research, and providing a high quality therein, is one of our recipes.- Our JMM, the online journal affiliated to the NetAcademy on Media Mangement, is doing very well in the international community, market and research.
