Item type:Publication, Zwischen dem Ähnlichsten gerade lügt der Schein am schönsten - Wahrnehmungsproblematiken zwischen Faculty und Fundraising von öffentlichen WirtschaftsuniversitätenThis dissertation addresses the question to what extent the mutual perception of the similar communities of meaning 'faculty' and 'fundraisers' at public business universities affects their ability to collaborate. It investigates this using the approach of multirational management on the basis of three case studies at universities from the CEMS network. In doing so, it identifies a total of six areas of tension, three of which are closely related to the respective perceptions of communities of meaning. This dissertation makes three contributions to theory. First, it shows that the similarity of rationalities can also have conflictive effects on actors. Second, using a structured sorting of keywords, it develops a method for operationalizing and measuring rationality differences. Third, it complements rationality research with the perspective of perceptions of communities of meaning.Type:doctoral thesis
